Dr. Bob Spiegel, DVM

Dr. Spiegel received his degree in veterinary medicine from the University of Perugia, Italy in 1983. After being an employee of other hospitals for a couple of years, he ventured out on his own. The journey began serving Hartford county, CT as a housecall practitioner back in 1985 (no cell phones!). His first clinic doors opened in 1987 and he has remained as a solo practitioner for all the years since. Dr. Spiegel has chosen to work solo for a variety of reasons, not the least of which, is to focus completely on you and your pet.

Often the ownership of a larger hospital obligates the owner veterinarian to be distracted from the main task of providing superior service and the best medicine and surgery for your pet. Dr. Spiegel has always utilized the community of veterinarians to help serve your pet when a second or third opinion should become necessary. Thankfully, the vast majority of clinical cases are very responsive to the integrative approach employed by Dr. Spiegel. The balance achieved by combining the best of modern medicine along with the Treasures of the East: Acupuncture, massage, & herbal medicines has satisfied so many pets and their owners. The patient comes first, but its owner companion is very much part of the picture and has an intimate role in participating in the health and maintenance of their loved one.
